The team at Taopix have taken on a challenge to give give give this April! For the second year in a row, our team have collected vital donations for our nearest The Trussell Trust Food Bank, based in Cramlington.
Our HQ team in Ponteland, UK, met the challenge head on and collected an impressive 174kg in cupboard essentials, baby care items and household products to send to the centre. Alongside this, we collected an incredible further £275 in monetary donations.
All participation was entirely voluntary, with an anonymous drop-off point within the office allowing people to give freely as little or as much as they liked. We’re extremely proud of our total donation amount, particularly considering the increase that each household is experiencing in their own cost of living. With increased bills and grocery expenses across the board, we were happily surprised by the generosity shown which surpassed any expectations given the economic climate.
Joyce Docherty, Project Manager for Cramlington Foodbank, sent a letter of thanks to Team Taopix for their donation. Within the letter, she states that the “extremely impressive 174kg (donation) is already going into parcels being given to local families. In addition to this, your extremely generous cash donation of £275 will allow us to restock key items which we constantly run short of. It is a gesture that is very much appreciated in these difficult times of rising costs for everyone”.
Demand for Foodbank parcels has soared in recent years, with 1 in 5 service users cited as being from a working household. The Trussell Trust is a charity which aims to help those suffering with food poverty, and has a network of over 1,200 food banks across the UK alone. Their work is heavily volunteer-led, and we’re extremely proud to have supported these efforts for a second year running.
Well done, Team Taopix!
