Göttingen crossmedia producer, Klartext GmbH, has invested in a new photo commerce platform from UK software developer, Taopix. The new online offering replaces the previous Windows-only download-only version and will be deployed through Klartext’s “directprint24.de” brand.
directprint24.de is a B2C platform that targets a diverse customer base made up of 25 to 75 year olds and currently specialises in the sale and manufacture of personalised photo gifts, cards, invitations, wall art and calendars.
Klartext was founded in 1994 and currently employs circa 50 staff. The company currently offers both offset and digital print manufacturing using Komori and Xerox iGen technologies.
Klartext CEO, Michael Hamel says: “We have a thriving online business today but wish to expand this business. We saw the Taopix HTML5 Designer at Drupa and immediately saw the opportunity to grow our revenue through online and mobile channels. We also want to sell additional products such as photo books. I think mobile will become the main focus of our business and will be a significant part of our future growth.”
To see how easy it is for our customers, with no design experience, to make beautiful products is wonderful. Now we can focus on building a great service and concentrate on selling instead of software development.
We believe Taopix is a perfect partner for our business and we are impressed by the young, innovative team at Taopix and its focus on this great platform.
Taopix Commercial Director, Steffen Haaga adds: “We’re excited to have Klartext on board as another new Taopix customer in Germany and I’m sure that the combination of their considerable B2C experience and our technology will make for a very successful, long-term partnership.
